The South Carolina Federation of Museums presented an Award of Achievement to the Railroad Museum this past Friday, March 18th, at it annual symposium in Myrtle Beach. Trustee Jim Massfeller accepted the award on behalf of the Museum.

This award is of particular significance because it is from all of the Museums in South Carolina, our peers. Our recent activities in upgrading the track and extending our train rides to the Rion Quarry area impressed the staffs of the other Museums within our State.

A special thanks is due to Jim and the entire Board of Trustees for their excellent work in obtaining the TEA-21 Grants that made this possible.
