The first Norfolk Southern train operating over the Museum's mainline to Guardian Fiberglass was on February 26, 2007. The project to upgrade the Museum's mainline to heavier rail, switches and crossties began in early 2006. Norfolk Southern operates over the 1st mile of the Museum's mainline track to the Guardian Fiberglass plant by way of joint trackage rights. Norfolk Southern serves the plant Monday through Friday unless the Museum has a scheduled charter train or special event during the week.
