Maintenance of Way Dept.Phil Woodell

Tie pile removal from mile marker 1.1 to 5.1

Tie plating and respiking from mile marker 1.1 to 5.1

joint repair at airport crossing and mile marker 4.3

Track tamping from mile marker 1.1 to 5.1

Procure and install crossing signals at Rion road

Install 85lb rail from Phil's fill east to hunters crossing

Put brush cutter on flatcar

1275- sight glass rebuilding, refueling

1249- number boards installed, ground fault correction

2028- oil change, handrail repair

2015- battery replacement

Dining car-battery replacement

82-install new injectors and injection pump, install aux fuel tanks, cab glass repair/ replace, bell and horn installed, brake valves rebuilt, repair #2 gear box, install battery cables, replace air hoses

Coaches-remove traction motors, recycle batteries, remove ditch light equipment and install on operational locomotive, repair steps on vestibules, upgrade vestibules to rubber tube type diaphragms, complete lighting upgrade, install head end power connections, fix PA system (connections between cars)

Purchase parts and repair the town's loader

tie crane- repair various leaks, install parking brake

Air compressor- ????

Chessie caboose- repair air leak/ brake piping

Train Crew Dept. Rodger Stroup/ John Parker/ Adam McDowell

Brakeman- you must attend one of the scheduled classes which will include a written test, as well as complete 10 qualifying trips

Conductor- you must be a qualified SCRM brakeman for 1 year, attend one of the scheduled classes which will include a written test, as well as complete 10 qualifying trips

Car host- No Classes are required, see Rodger Stroup for training

Dispatcher- No classes are required, see John Parker for training

Ticket agent or gift shop attendant-No classes required, see Joe Palmer or Randy Sisk for training

Motor car operator(even if it is your own motorcar)-you will need to take a written test and make qualifying runs with a certified SCRM motorcar operator

Student engineer- you must be a qualified SCRM brakeman for 1 year, a qualified SCRM conductor for 1 year, complete three written tests, submit your DMV driving record, pass a hearing and vision qualification, pass a health physical and run trips under supervision. Please contact Adam McDowell SCRM engineer- see above. Will only need a requalifying trip per year, plus updated hearing test, vision test and health physical.

PLEASE NOTE- with all train crew positions, you must recertify every year in the Spring, which includes taking a class and a written test. If you cannot make a Saturday class, please contact John Parker for assistance.
