Norfolk Floor Exposed

If you have not visited the Norfolk recently I encourage you to come to see the beautiful mosaic tile floor. Built in 1911 for use by a vice-president of the Seaboard Airline Railroad the car has retained much of its original finishes.  However, at some point, the mosaic tile floor between the dining room and the front of the car was covered with ugly brown linoleum tile.  Over the years the tile has come loose leaving an unsightly floor.  In April Daniel Murphy (grandson of our former engineer Gene Allen) and his father, Dan spent a Saturday removing the old linoleum tile and cleaning the original tile.  Despite a few age cracks the floor is back to its original fabric.
